Gurgaon: A citizens’ conference was convened in Nuh on Sunday to condemn a set of mahapanchayats being organised in aid of an accused of the alleged lynching of a fitness coach named as Asif Khan.
A conference ordered by Shahidane Mewat and Nagrik Manch detained several groups of trying to exude pressure in some specific places.
The conference was attended by many leaders of the Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM), Centre of Indian Trade Unions, clerics, along with a few political leaders.
“The conference was in reaction to what’s been happening for the last couple of weeks,” explained CITU country president Surekha.
Last month, Asif Khan (27) was crushed to death with a bunch of guys while he was outside with his cousin to get some medications.
While authorities said the episode had been a fallout of older competition, Asif’s relatives alleged that the youth had been lynched.
“Since this past year, many groups are attempting to split people on specific lines.
We’re urging people not to fall in the snare and preserve order and law,” said neighborhood pioneer Ramzan Chaudhary.
Throughout the seminar, the SKM leaders announced to maintain a”Kisan Mazdoor Bhaichara” occasion at Sunehra boundary on June 28.
“All these are the efforts to hamper the farmers’ movement by attempting to split farmers on specific lines.
Such tactics won’t work and we’ll do our very best to thwart these efforts,” stated former MP and chief of CPIM, Subhashini Ali Sahgal.
