Nagpur: Five people have been arrested for allegedly owning and trying to sell tiger and teeth nails in Nagpur Maharashtra Regency, a forest official said on Wednesday.
Acting on the tip-off, a team from the Nagpur Forest Division put a trap at the Umred bus stop on Tuesday and arrested three defendants who came there to sell animal parts, said Hada Bharat Singh Forest Conservator.
Based on the information provided by the trio, two were accused of further then Nabbed, the official said in the release.
The Ministry of Forestry has registered a violation of the defendant based on the relevant provisions of the Wildlife Protection Act, 1972, he added.
