Coimbatore: Five people, including four women, died when a truck that quickly collided directly with Minivan, they traveled near Parappalayam in Tamil Nadu Regency on Thursday afternoon.
Three passengers suffered severe injuries in the accident.
The deceased has been identified as Thenmozhi, 20, wife of Mohan, Theivanai, 45, (both of them were praised from Muthugoundampalayam in Erode Regency), Manju, 18, from Thanuthuppalayam, Arukani, 40, from Kanur Village and Driver Minivan Pepathappan aka Prakash, 24, from Modakurichi.
Mohan, Kumarsan and Muthusamy suffered severe injuries.
The accident occurred at around 12:30 a.m.
when they returned home in a minivan rented after offering prayers at the Delayuthapani Swamy temple at Puni in Dindigul District.
Except for minivan drivers, the other is relatives.

Deputy Supervisor of Anandaraj police and his team reached the place and saved three passengers and sent them to erode universities and government medical hospitals.
The police registered a case against truck driver M Manikandan, 41, from Kasipallayam in the Erode district.
He was detained.
