Five dead since Automobile falls into Lake in J&K

JAMMU: Five people died when a cab where they were travelling plunged to a rivulet at Ramban district of Jammu & Kashmir during Friday night.
Ramban SSP P D Nitya said that the Incident happened about 9.30pm Once the cab, in its own way towards Jammu, dove to Bisleri Nallah close Digdol.
“From two passengers, three had been found dead and two critically wounded were rescued and transformed into hospital where a person had been declared brought dead.
Section of the person was found entangled in the wreckage of the car afterwards,” explained the SSP.
Jammu-based defence spokesperson Lt Col Devender Anand stated that soldiers in the Territorial Army cried at Digdaul hurried to the area and needed to rappel down a rock face at 90 degrees to achieve the sufferers.
Ramban deputy commissioner Mussrat Islam reported that instructions are issued to offer all possible support to the wounded.
Expressing grief over the episode, J&K lieutenant governor Manoj Sinha on Saturday directed the departments concerned to perform road safety audit and rectification steps per week.
Sinha also led authorities to establish a road safety awareness effort at metropolitan stretches of streets to check injuries caused as a result of human error.
