SHILLONG/SILCHAR: five employees are feared trapped in an 500-feet-deep left coal mine from the Umpleng region of Meghalaya’s East Jaintia Hills district, authorities said on Monday, record Manosh Das & BB Goswami.
The incident came to light after a Karimul Bari of Assam’s Cachar district reported on the Assam Police that among his acquaintances was one of the miners feared trapped inside the coal mine accident which happened on Sunday.
The Meghalaya government has led the deputy commissioner of both East Jaintia Hills, E Kharmlaki, to institute a magisterial inquiry into the accident and document an FIR against people is involved.
