Panaji: Five films have been selected from eight entries that will be screened in the Goan Film section at the 52nd International Film Festival from India (IFFI).
For the first time, more non-features than the feature film will be filtered below this section.
The Konkani ‘Gagan’ film, directed by Supraj Kkar and produced by Brijesh Kakodkar is a 24-minute short film that talks about a broken relationship between a father and child.
The ‘limit’ is a film Marathi 36 minutes, produced and directed by Vardhan Kamat.
The filmmakers were happy and were told about the struggle they were through to make their films.
“The film is shot with whatever limited resources we have.
We also build tracks and trolleys within eight days to photograph this film.
This film was shot in three different places and filming finished within three days.
This is five scenes one -Take and hence the coordination of each cast player and the crew is very important, “Kamat said.
‘Limit’ revolves around two women’s protagonists, Neha and Manasi, working at job vacancies companies in the Indian Metropolitan City and represent the same generation but ideologies are different about the balance of work life, freedom and restrictions.
‘Kupamcho Daryeo’, a 19-minute film in Konkani, directed by Himanshu Singh and produced by Kishor Arjun Shinde will also be filtered in the Goan Iffi film section.
‘D’Costa House’ will be the only feature film that will be filtered in the section.
The film was produced by Salgaocar Pramod and directed by Jitendra Shikerkar and 2 hours and 14 minutes.
This is also the film Konkani.
Of the five films, only one will be a non-premier film – ‘Paul 10’.
Konkani’s film is 19 minutes away and directed by Sunil Revankar and produced by Roopa Ramesh Revankar.
The vice president of the entertainment of the Goa community, Subhash Faldesai said that the film’s personality recorded was taken in to drive a film Goan for the section.
The jury includes filmmakers and actors S V Rajendra Singh Babu, Sinematographer Prasanu Mohapatra and Actor and Pramod Pawar filmmakers.
