Five Nagaland District said it would boycott all national celebrations

Guwahati: The tribes in five districts of Eastern Nagaland on Wednesday stated “complete non-cooperation” with the armed forces, including local prohibitions on recruitment by the Army and the boycott of “all national celebrations”, in protest against the murder of 14 residents of Konyak Village in District Mon in a failed counter-rebellion operation and afterwards.
East Naga Peoples Organization (ENPO), which represent Konak, Phoms, Changs, Khiamniungi, Yimchungrus and Sangtams, said agitation would continue until justice was carried out to the victims of the village of Oting and Interior Minister Amit Shah attracted his statement in parliament about the Army Command of Army open fire on village residents “in self defense”.
