Five police were injured in clashes over the TAZIA procession in Devbhumi Dwarka District

Rajkot: Five policemen including police sub-inspectors were injured during a broken clash to issue a TAZIA procession in Salaya City Devbhumi Dwarka district on Thursday night.
The police have filed a complaint of riot and illegal assembly against a mass of 200 people and started an investigation.
The incident occurred around 8:30 a.m.
on Thursday when the police asked local residents not to issue a tazia procession and comply with Covid-19 guidelines.
“The crowd refused and insisted on taking the procession.
There was a heated argument between the local residents and the police who followed several people began to throw stones in the police,” Salaya police said.
Five policemen including a sub-inspector of the female police from the Marine Police Station Salaya and Jawan Three Gram Rakshak Dal (GRD) was injured in throwing stones.
“Mob goes a rampage and attacks the police vehicle.
Additional troops are called and the situation is controlled after two hours,” police said, adding that the police demanded the crowd and threw three tears.
The spread of heavy police has been carried out in coastal cities to prevent further increased violence.
Local police have begun to combine operations to capture rioters.
The injured police included Psi P Zala, Constable Hirendrasinh Jadeja, GRD Jawan – Dileep, Jeraryinh and Kuldeepsinh.
