Rajkot: Five people died after their car traveled crashing into a stationary truck on Morbi-Maliya highway.
Police said that all victims came from Rajasthan and were Morbi residents.
The police identified the deceased as Anand Singh Shekhawat (35), Ashok Birda (25), Tarachand Barala (24), Bijendra Singh Shekhawat (26) and Dinesh aka Rajesh Jat (24).
They returned to their homes in Ganeshnagar in Morbi.
Anand Singh has a transportation business at Bharatnagar and the other fourth works for him.
Around 10pm when their car passed by Timbi Village, the cyclist in front of them suddenly changed the path.
Trying to save cyclists, Anand, who drove a high speed car, lost control of the vehicle while crashing into a truck parked on the side of the highway.
The police said that the whole body of the front of the car was left destroyed by a high impact collision.
All five passengers die in place.
“Eyewitnesses said that the car suddenly moved to the side of the road.
When we investigated further, learned that a biker suddenly changed his path and came in front of the car,” said a police officer.
