Patna: Cm Nith Kumar on Wednesday examined the Mahana Weir irrigation project near Katiyari Village under the Sangrampur block in the Munger district and requested an official of the Department of Water Resources (WRD) to start working immediately to recover a dilapidated project, which was originally built in 1965 .
Accompanied by Munger MP and JD (U) national president Rajiv Ranjan Singh alias Lalan Singh and WRD Secretary Sanjiv Hans, CM inquires from local villagers about the irrigation facilities in the area and their difficulties.
“I came here to find out about your difficulty.
I will take the steps needed to solve problems related to your irrigation and even other problems,” Nitish told villagers near the Weir project.
Previously, Secretary WRD provided detailed information to CM about the Mahane project.
When checking the project, Nitish asked WRD officials to build a small distributor network for water from the command area so that the villagers felt comfortable for irrigation work.
“Create a water regulation that is so subtle so that the maximum number of farmers benefits and people have more comfort in irrigating their land.
Farmers from many of the nearest villages will benefit from the recovery of the Mahana Weir project,” CM told the officials.
Nitish then asks Secretary WRD to repair the wall protection, stone pitching and the crashing pillar of the Damaged Mahane Project.
He also ordered for the improvement needed from Super Skip the belfarwa-mahane link channel and other things.
CM was also ordered to do Destiltation work in the Mahana project for more water storage.
Other prominent officials present during CM visits were the commissioner of Division, Munger, Prem Singh Meena, Secretary of CM Anupam Kumar, Munger Range Digging Pankaj Sinha, Munger DM Navin Sinha and SSP Jaggunath Reddy.
