Letter: Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) has submitted an initial investigation report into the Varachha Bus API on January 18 which claimed the life of a 30-year-old Bhavnagar woman.
FSL states that fire may be caused by some flammable materials stored as luggage on the bus.
However, city police have refused to register violations based on this report.
In the report two pages, the FSL puts aside the possibility of a short circuit as an excuse behind the fire.
“The FSL stated in his report that the fire began because some flammable material on the bus.
This will provide direction for police investigations but we will not register violations based on this stage,” said a police officer.
“The FSL will send a final report based on detailed chemical analysis.
This will reveal how the fire starts.
After the final report, the police will register the FIR” the officer added.
