Flash Flood Afghanistan: Death Toll Rises to 113

Nuristan (Afghanistan): The death toll last week in Kamdish Afghanistan, has increased to 113 with dozens still disappeared, Tolo News reported quoting an official, adding that 70 was more injured.
Floods occurred on Wednesday due to heavy rains in the Kamdish district in Nuristan Province.

12 kilometers of the road has been destroyed, 173 houses are completely damaged,” The State Minister for Natural Disaster Management Ghulam Bahauddin Jailani said, Tolo News reported.
Several parliamentarians from the province said the population affected by floods needed urgent assistance.
Parliamentarians claim that the Taliban blocked the surgery of the victim’s rescue.
But the Taliban has said that it has prevented infiltration of government forces into flood-hit areas.
“People in critical situations.
They need help urgently.
They have lost everything,” said Ismail, a member of Parliament from Nuristan.
Governor Nuristan Hafiz Abdul Qayum said several affected families had been given support by the government.
“Our team has been sent.
Based on their assessment, the flood-affected people need a tent, bed and kitchen kits as their basic needs,” he said.
Last month, at least 12 people were also killed as heavy rain and flash floods on parts of the western Herat Province Afghanistan.
Floods also destroy dozens of housing houses and gardens in the district and cause the closure of several district roads to traffic.
