Kathmandu: Flash flood triggered by heavy rainfall has flooded more than 380 homes and damaged several residential areas in Kathmandu, police said on Monday.
Heavy rainfall on Sunday night was flooded with more than 100 places in Kathmandu.
The Nepal police team, armed police forces and the Nepal Army have saved more than 138 people last night, said Sushil Singh Rathore, spokesman at the Metropolitan Police Station.
“Rescue work is carried out in multipani settlements on the banks of the Manohara River, Kadagari, Teku and Balkhu,” Rathore said.
Most human settlements on the banks of the river in Kathmandu have been flooded with flash floods.
Kathmandu witnessed 105 mm rainfall in four hours, according to officials.
382 houses have been flooded with flash floods, said the metropolitan police station.
Areas include Tankshwor, Dallu, Teku, Tachal, Balkhu, Naya Buspark, BhimsenShan, Machha Pokhari, Chabahil, Jorpati and Kalopul are mostly flooded with flash floods, he said.
Meanwhile, seven people were injured after they were beaten by Lightning in Betica Village in the Okhaldhunga District on Sunday.
A dozen houses were also damaged in a lightning strike, police said.
