Istanbul: Four people were killed in flash floods in Kastamonu in the Turkish Black Sea area and one missing person, said the disaster and emergency management directorate on Thursday.
There are also floods in the provinces of Black Sea Bartin and Sinop.
State broadcaster, Trt Haber, said on Wednesday one person died of a heart attack in the midst of the flood in Bartin.
Afad said the evacuation of people from the area affected by the helicopter continued, adding that there was a road closure because the bridge was collapsed and damaged.
Television recordings show floods dragging dozens of cars and pile of debris on the streets.
Heavy rainfall in this region will subside on Friday, according to data from the weather authority, said Afad.
Turkey North is vulnerable to flash floods in the summer when the rain is very strong.
Last year at least five people were killed in a flood in the region.
Turkey also struggled to grow forest fires that had burned tens of thousands of hectares of forest along the south coast for the past two weeks.
