Flights to Ayodhya are likely to start from the Hindon terminal

Ghaziabad: Civil Terminal at the Hindon Air Force Base, which has struggled to make the impression on a flight map with only two operational routes, receiving some encouragement with two airlines set to start flight operations to Ayodhya and Kushinagarh.
The Ministry of Civil Aviation, according to airport officials, has approved the operation on three routes under the UDAN scheme (Ude Desha AAM).
While the legacy Aviation has started a flight to Pithoragarh in 2019, services have been suspended for more than a year.
The leading major airlines are expected to start services on the current route, officials said.
“In accordance with the communication received from the Ministry of Civil Aviation, Turbo Aviation has been awarded Ghaziabad to the Ayodhaya route.
There is still no detail when the operation will begin but it is expected that the operation can be started at the end of this year,” Shobha Bhardwajed, Director of the Hindon Civil Terminal, to Tii.
Flight operations on the route Ghaziabad-Kushinagar and Ghaziabad-Pithoragarh will be handled by leading airlines, said Bhardwaj, adding further orders to be awaited.
Flights on the Ayodhya route will cut the trip time for up to one hour.
At present it takes 10 hours to reach Uttar Pradesh City via road.
The civil terminal in Ghaziabad was proposed to operate flights to eight routes, including Nashik, Pithoragarh, Kannur, Hubli, Faizabad, Shimla, Jamnagar and Kalaburagi.
However, commercial flight operations have been started from the terminal in 2019 only on three routes – Pithoragarh, Hubli and Kalurgi.
Airplane flights of nine seats have been briefly operate on the Hindon-Pithoragarh route in 2019.
“Because of bad weather and technical barriers, flight operations on the Pithoragarh route have been suspended since March 2020.
If other airlines start operating on this route, which is expected at the end Years, passengers will have the choice to choose from, “said an official at the Civil Terminal.
Flight operations on the Hindon-Hubli route and Hindon-Kalurgi, operated by Star Air, officials said.
On the Hubli route, flight services are available on four days (Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday).
On the route Kalurgi, services are available on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
