Floating Tender for 640 Low Floor AC Buses

New Delhi: The Delhi government has floated tenders to trigger 640 low-air-conditioned buses, including 190 electric buses, to strengthen the public transport fleet in the national capital.
In the notification published on Saturday, the Department of Transportation issued a request for qualifications and proposals (RFQP) for the operation of the 190 private-air-conditioned private-air-conditioned electric bus under the cluster scheme.
Under the cluster scheme of the integrated Delhi (DIMTS) multi-capital system, the government has so far been installed at 3,033 buses.
The day before, the Department of Transportation issued RFQP for induction of 450 low-floor AC buses under the cluster scheme.
Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) operates around 3,600 low floor buses.
Together, the DTC bus and clusters consist of public transport fleets.
Another public transportation segment is the Delhi Metro train.
The new bus is equipped with the latest features such as GPS, panic buttons, and CCTV cameras are expected to pass on city streets in mid 2022, if the offer was successfully carried out, the department official said.
The new low floor bus will replace the old one in two clusters who will resolve the 7.5 lakh kilometer road life next year.
This will ensure that people do not have to face the lack of buses, said a department officer.
The buses that resolve their lives are a standard that will be replaced by low floor air conditioning buses.
According to estimates, Delhi needs at least 11,000 buses to meet the needs of public transportation.
The Delhi government has made efforts to bring more buses.
DTC has also floated tenders for 300 recent electric buses that are expected to be launched from November this year.
