Noida: Violations at the channel embankment associated with the Ganges canal flooded a village in the Rabupura area when most of the residents fell asleep on Saturday morning.
Water flows into homes in the lowlands in the village of Mehndipur as part of the embankment, which is 2 km away, swept away, jerking people from their sleep.
Immediately, the path in the village is under deep water.
The videos posted on social media show villagers naved 3-4ft water to go to higher areas, bring their livestock with them.
Tasleem, one of the villagers, told TII that the two lanes of Naubisa Mohalla were flooded in the morning.
Water has radiated to at least 15-20 houses in the area.
“All of these houses are in the lowlands and are flooded within half an hour.
They are in a higher area in the village it is spared.
The two lanes of Naubisa Mohalla are really under water,” he said.
The scene in the village varies.
While some use everything from the equipment to the bucket to drain water from their homes, children take advantage of most of the moments to make splashes in deep water.
After the video became Viral, a team from the Rabupura police station and irrigation department officials visited the area.
In the afternoon, several sacks filled with concrete and sand were placed to close the embankment section that had been swept away.
Sandeep Kumar Sub-Inspector, who is part of the police team visiting the village, said it took seven hours to close the walls violated.
PC Lamba from the Irrigation Department, which initially claimed that excessive rain has flooded the village, then said the washed part of the embankment was sealed by 4pm.
