Mumbai: Shiv Sena MP Arvind Sawant wrote a letter to the State Minister of State, Nityanand Rai for deploying additional NRDF teams for rescue and assistance that drove in Ratnagiri and Kolhapur who hit Maharashtra floods.
Sawant wrote a letter on Thursday (July 22) as heavy rains destroying different places in Maharashtra which leads to landslides and situations such as floods.
In his letter, Sawant wrote, “You must realize that Maharashtra faces a lot of disasters from Corona to the cyclone, before the rainy season.
Now when it rains, heavy rain and unprecedented has caused flooding in Maharashtra, especially in the city of Chiplun Ratnagiri, where the river Vasisthi flows 8 ‘to 10’ high from the surface of the ground and the entire city of Chiplun also sank in the water that rises.
“He also mentioned that Chiplun City had experienced the worst flood in 2005.
However, there were more destruction in the current flood than that at that In 2005.
He asked for quick action to save people by providing an additional NRDF team in Chiplun.
“The same is the position in Kolhapur, the Panchganga River has crossed the level of danger and water has entered the city of Kolhapur.
Therefore, I ask for your honor to use the NRDF team in both places to urge and save people’s lives.” Meanwhile, the army personnel team had arrived in Chiplun in Ratnagiri to do assistance work on Friday.
The South Command of the Indian army said that the Army had mobilized the flood assistance column to Ratnagiri in Maharashtra to help civil administration for rescue, assistance and medical assistance.
