Mumbai: To help the state government in providing assistance to the Maharashtra region that was beaten by floods, members of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) would contribute their salaries to the Minister of Chief Assistance.
The Cabinet Minister and Senior NCP leader Nawab Malik announced the decision.
“Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar has announced that in this situation, all ministers, parliamentarians, and MLA NCP will provide a one-month salary to the Minister of Relief Funds to help people affected by flooding,” Malik said.
In a tweet, NCP leader and Interior Minister Dilip Walse-Patil said that he had directed the authorities to immediately ask the damage caused by heavy rain and took immediate action to restore the lives of people in affected areas.
A total of 164 people lost their lives in Maharashtra’s flood until now while 100 people were still missing.
Meanwhile, the Administration of Raigad Regency on Monday called a search operation for 31 missing people in Tatiye Village affected by landslides.
