Patna: Flood water continues to cause chaos in Begusarai, Khagaria, Bhagalpur and Katihar even though the water level from various rivers began to recede on Wednesday.
The Department of Water Resources (WRD) is now afraid to increase soil erosion along the river bank.
“This is a normal phenomenon that when the river surface falls, it causes soil erosion,” said the WRD source, adding that the most vulnerable and threatening points will be identified to carry out anti-erosion work.
The ganga water level has a trend that falls from Buxar to Hathahah, including Digha and Gandhi Ghat on Patna.
However, the river still flowed above the level of danger along the downstream from Maner to Kahalgaon.
In fact, the surface of the stable ganga water in Hathidah, Munger and Bhagalpur, but rises outside Kahalgaon, as Mahanda, which flows through Kishangangj Regency and Katihar into Ganga, located in the Spate.
The most affected block is Gopalpur, Naugachhia, Rangda and Khatik in the North Bhagalpur Block, Kahalgaon and Pirpainty in South Bhagalpur, as well as Block Amdabad and Manihari in Kather South.
To worsen the circumstances for the next coming days, medium to high rainfall has been estimated at Mahanda Basin in Kishanganj and Katihar, as well as in Arriar District, on Thursday and Friday.
