Miami: US State Florida became the covid-19 pandemic center in the country because new cases recently soared, according to media reports.
On July 30, the Sunshine State recorded 21,683 new Covid-19 cases, breaking a record one day earlier from 19,100 new infections set in early January, the Xinhua news agency quoted Forbes reports on Monday.
According to the weekly report from the State Health Department, Florida reported 110,477 new cases from July 23 to 29, which increased by around 50 percent from 73,196 cases in the previous week.
Since the beginning of the pandemic earlier last year, Florida has so far reported a total of 2,636,066 confirmed Coronavirus cases and 39,079 deaths.
On Sunday, the country broke its record for hospitalization Coronavirus, USA Today reported.
More than 10,200 people in Florida are currently hospitalized with Covid-19 confirmed cases, according to data reported to the US Department of Health & Human Human.
Previous notes from 10,170 hospitalization were from July 23, 2020, more than half a year before vaccination began to widespread, according to the Florida Hospital Association.
Florida led the nation in hospitalization per capita for Covid-19.
However, Florida “did not take all the steps needed to control the spread of the virus”, the Forbes report said that the state government only reported a new case weekly than every day.
Meanwhile, the state does not urge its people to take the necessary steps such as maintaining social distance and wearing a mask.
On July 31, Governor Ron Desantis even asked the Ministry of Health and Education to “protect the freedom of parents to choose whether their children wore masks at school”.
