New Delhi: Minister of Finance Nirmala Sitharaman on Sunday hosted high tea for all 11 female members of the Union council.
A total of seven new female ministers were appointed in the government on Wednesday, despite the minister of cabinet that had Nirmala Sitharaman and Irani, and State Minister Sadhavi Niranjan Jyoti and Renuka Singh Saruta.
Of the 12 exits on Wednesday, only one woman, Minister of State (MOS) for the development of women and children Debasree Chaudhuri was dropped from the council.
“SMT @NSitharaman interacts with female members of the ministerial union council during a high tea session held at his residence today,” Finance Minister Tweeted.
New Members Inaugurated in Board – Meenakashi Lekhi Mos for External Affairs and Culture, Anupriya Patel, MOS for Trade and Industry, Annapurna Devi Mos for Education, Pratima Bhoumik, MOS for Justice and Social Empowerment, Shobha Karandlaje MOS for Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, Bharati pawar mos for health and family welfare, and Darshana Jardosh MOS for trains & textiles present.
In addition to the old colleagues on the Board, Smriti Irani Minister of Female and Children and Mos Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti and Renuka Singh Saruta are also present for high tea.
The Government of Narendra Modi-LED as part of the cabinet expansion includes seven more female ministers who took total strength at the Council of Ministers to 11, the highest since 2004.
The two requirements for the Government of Makmohan Singh each have 10 female ministers.
