Folk Singer, Rajyotsava Awardee Basalingayya Hiremath No More

Dharwad: Records the People’s singer and Scholar Basalingayya Hiremate died in a private hospital in Bengaluru on Sunday.
He is 63 years old.
He survived the wife of Vishweshwari and Son’s artist.
Hading from Bailur in Bailhongal Taluk from the Bellagavi District, Basalingayya has settled in Dharwad.
He has been trained in Neenasam, Heggodu, and works as a music composer with the BV Karant theater personality.
Basalingayya and his wife Vishweshwari founded Janapada Samshodhana Kendra in Dharwad and the pair was involved in promoting people’s art through direct performances and research.
Basalingayya was credited with popularizing the People’s Game Shri Krishna Parijata throughout the world by appearing in various countries.
He has expertise in various forms of folk art such as’ dodata ‘,’ Sannata, ‘and’ Bayalata.
“The Karnataka government has respected him with RajyotsaVA Award.
The remnants of mortal basalingayya are stored for the public to respect them at his residence in Saptapur in Dharwad.
The final rite will be carried out in Bailur on Monday morning Shankar Patil Munenkopp, Mlaas Arvind Bellad and Amrut Desai, musicians, and music lovers have hit the basaling death.
