Chennai: With a Covid case down, Tamil Nadu slowly lifts locking restrictions.
But people must continue to follow the limitation of pandemics to maintain low events, said Minister of Health MA Subramanian.
“It is the task of the government to create awareness and encourage people to wear masks and maintain social distance,” he said launching a four-day awareness campaign for Covid’s appropriate behavior.
The program was held jointly by the Directorate of Public Health, Greater Chennai Corporation, Press and Unicef Information Bureau.
“Ten mini vans with posters and loudspeakers will move around the busy residential areas and markets in the city for the next four days until July 5 will distribute pamphlets to strengthen messages that urge people to wear masks, use sanitizers and maintain physical distances and also Avoid crowded places to control the case surge.
They will also motivate them to be vaccinated, “he said.
The country has so far received a 1.56 year vaccine dose and has used a dose of 1.48.
“We have more doses of eight lakh and we hope to empty it in a few days,” he said.
