Food in Refrigerator Bints: Mescom Officials Requested to Pay Compensation

Mangaluru: Consumer Disputes of the Dakshina Nongent Commission (DCDRC) Dakshina Kannada has directed Mescom officials to pay compensation to a consumer, who suffered losses after the food was stored in the refrigerator.
Kabeer Ullal, a resident of Millat Nagar in Ullal, stated in his complaint in the presence of the Commission, that Mescom’s authority cut off the power supply to his house, despite paying bills on time.
As a result, food items stored in the refrigerator perish during the absence of family members at home.
After the trial, the Commission directed Mescom officials to pay Rs 4,000 to compensation as compensation, and also pay Rs 5,000 as a litigation cost.

“The Bill of Rs 1,787 was issued for my house on June 12, 2018, and the same was paid on or before June 27, 2018.

The total value of the item stored in the refrigerator is worth Rs 6,000.

In verifying the meter board outside the house, Kabeer noticed that the fuse was removed, and the power supply was drawn, he said.

The Commission has ordered an executive assistant, Ullal Division and Executive Engineer, Division No1, Mescom Attavar, to pay compensation and litigation fees, “Kabeer said.
In the order signed by Prakash K, President, Dakshina Kannada DCDRC, a member of Lavanya M Rai and Lingarnaju P v, the opposite parties have been directed to pay compensation together in a month.
