Coimbatore: In an effort to examine criminal activities and win community trust, city police have launched foot patrols.
The police will prevent crime, said Police Commissioner DEAMM M Damor.
“Foot patrol will enhance the relationship between the police and the public.
Inspector, sub-inspectors and police have been advised to conduct legrols, so that the police can interact with the general public and build relationships,” he said.
The city police have 15 legal police stations & reservations, 15 investigative wings and special units.
Law Police & Order are used to handle the Code of India (IPC) cases, except theft, robbery, murder to get, other crimes and non-prosperous crimes.
After assuming the office, Damor directed the police investigation of the wing to handle all cases listed under the IPC.
As a result, the police & the police command have more time to focus on the core function.
While police personnel conducted regular patrols using 24 four-wheeled two wheels and 42 wheels, Damors had instructed inspectors, sub-inspectors and other personnel to behave patrol in their respective limits at night and interact with civilians.
“Personnel will reach an interior area to interact with the public.
This will improve the relationship between the police and the public,” he added.
