Kolkata: With the reduced legs following the third wave of Covid and restrictions, most of the main city clubs rely heavily on home delivery and takeaway to limit losses.
Almost all clubs make home delivery or will start this.
Some of the main clubs also expand the menu at home shipping offers.
After the first wave of Covid, the club first explored home delivery options due to restrictions.
This time, the record fell at the foot point of the member had left the club with very few choices.

“Now the menu of each of our restaurants will be available for home delivery.

Roychowdhury added that they had tested Covid on all club staff and the results of four became positive.
“We have isolated them,” he added.
Calcutta club committee members, Pramit Kumar Ray, said they got a good response from home delivery even though footfall had dropped more than 50%.
“We close the club at 9pm,” he said.
Bengal club president, Ambarish Dasgupta, said very few members visited now.
“We operate home delivery and takeaways.
It is difficult to support if it continues like this,” he added.
Secretary with Lake Club, Subrata Guha, said they would call a meeting on Tuesday to decide on home delivery.
“The footsteps now are 20% of normal numbers.
On weekends, we see at least 150-200 members but now we only get 30-40.
We close at 9:45 a.m.,” he added.
The manager (operation) of Princeton Club, Sanjay Karmakar, also admitted that the last week was bad.
“Home delivery and bearies are the heart but the roops watry is very low.”
