Footfall Low On New Bus Sector Route, GMCBL Set To Knock Corporation & Rwas

Gurgaon: Almost a month after Gurugram Metropolitan City Bus Limited (GMCBL) began operations on three routes in new sectors, footsteps continued to remain low.
Officials said they planned to use social media and also reached the corporation and Rwa to encourage people to use bus services.
However, residents blame the low frequency of buses and last minute connectivity problems for the same thing.
A senior GMCBL official told the Toi that the bus operation was continued on three routes in September and October after a request from local residents.
“But footsteps are still very low.
Rwas has assured us that the route needed for families who live there, especially with Covid limitations have now been appointed.
However, the route does not see the type of passenger we expect.” “We cannot stop the service immediately.
, usually it also takes time for residents to get used to this service.
However, low passengers are pinching GMCBL, so we now intend to exploit social media to spread the awareness of the route, and also reach the corporation and RWA.
But if the numbers are still not Take, we might have to consider stopping services on this new route, “he said.
It was towards the end of September, following the report by TOI on the problem of connectivity in the newly developed sector, that GMCBL started a bus operation on three routes.
On September 28, GMCBL continued service at Route 116, which runs between Rajesh Pilot Chowk and Daultabad in Dwarka Expressway.
The next day, the service was also recommended on the 135B route, which runs between the IFFCO Chowk Metro Station and Badha Village in Sector 82.
Two weeks later, on October 11, GMCBL also continued the bus service at Route 115/56 Metro Station and Sector 70A.
Services on each of the three routes have resumed with two buses, and officials say, due to low steps, the number of vehicles serving commuters along this has not changed.
Meanwhile, the passengers and residents, blame the legs low at the low frequency of the bus, as well as the fact that they did not walk on the internal road.
“For me, the closest bus stop is about one kilometer, it is a terrible idea to walk that far now, with pollution and smoke,” said Santosh Mishra, a resident of Sector 82.
Nishant Upadhyay, a resident of sector 84, said, “I am from Delhi So I always become a DTC bus user.
However, the best part about DTC services is the frequency.
Here, because only two buses run on the route, use it means planning and preparation well in advance, which is not always possible for me.
If the bus frequency Increases, I will definitely use it.
