For 4th time, NMRC invites bids for Aqua Line corridor

Written by news2in

NOIDA: The Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC) has floated a civil works tender for the fourth time for the construction of its Noida-Greater Noida corridor of the Aqua Line.
The project is 9.6-km-long and includes five elevated stations that will be built at sectors 122, 123, Greater Noida Sector 4, Ecotech 12 and Greater Noida Sector 2.
The tenders will be opened on June 30.
The service is expected to help connect residents of Noida Extension and Crossings Republik with the mass transport system.
The NMRC had cancelled the third round of the civil tendering process in February because of a lack of “wide participation” from construction companies.
This line will connect Noida’s Sector 51 station with Greater Noida’s Knowledge V station and will be built in two phases.
Earlier, only two construction companies had shown interest in the project.
“This time we are hopeful of wider participation.
The tender process had to be cancelled before because we needed at least three respondents for bids.
This time we have taken technical consultation from the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) for calling the bids and we hope the process will be successful.
The project completion deadline will be 24 months from the date when the project is awarded to the selected bidder,” VV Reddy, Deputy General Manager (Civil) NMRC, told TOI.
NMRC first invited tenders in May 2020 and received bids from three firms, of which one was not a construction company, and cancelled the tender in July due to lack of good response.
The corporation re-invited tenders in September 2020 and received two bids from Sam India and GR Infra projects in mid-November, but cancelled the same in November-end.
The third round was floated in December and cancelled in February this year.
Work on the extension of the Aqua Line is expected to start in 2021 and the UP cabinet has approved the detailed project report.
