For Iím-Ahmedabad students, Maa Mantra is a success

Ahmedabad: A student who has received a place in IIM-A bear the name Het Shitaben Shukla, as an expression of thanks to his mother who raised him as a single parent.
Het’s pride in his mother, underlined by his respect for him, given the famous line of Deewar Blockbuster 1975: “Mere Paas Maa Hai”.
Growing in Bopal, where he lives in a rented house until 2015, Het never goes to the training institution until he is in class 11.
“My mother always helps me with my study.
He holds a diploma in the field of engineering,” Het said.
“During the early stages of my life, he worked as a school teacher to take care of households and other expenses.” Hard work and persistence paid off.
HET is placed at a 97.53 percentile in a cat and has recently been offered in the IIM-A program in the FABM PGP program (food and agribise management) for batch 2021-23.
As a child, Het often passes through the main campus, known as the red brick building icon.
He is always excited to find out what’s inside the gate.
“I have to know more about the Institute by reading a book written by Chetan Bhagat and Rashmi Bansal,” Het said.
He passed IIM-A on both efforts.
He completed the Bachelor of Science (Hons) course in Horticulture from Anand Advice Agriculture.
He has worked in a private company as an executive of sales and purchases for agricultural commodities.
While pursuing a scholar program, he visited several farms and food processing units.
During his interaction with farmers, he knew the critical problem of losing post-harvest.
“It seems because improper post-harvest management, India lost around 25-30% of horticultural plants harvested,” Het said.
“In addition, only 2% of the total harvest is processed.” Processing horticulture plants is important because it adds value to products and farmers can increase their income.
“I see the problem of post-harvest losses as an opportunity to help farmers.
But to achieve that I need to know the basic concepts needed for effective management,” Het said.
“All of this ignites my passion to pursue a master’s degree in business administration.”
