For RS 10, consumer rights activists lose face in court

Letter: Despair of the Consumer Rights Activist to take a legal approach to a prominent mall in Vadodara instead of resolving the problem that has ended with a shame for him.
Mukesh Shah activist has dragged the Inorbit Mall in Vadodara to the court claiming that he did not regain the allegations of Rs 10 because of the error handling his vehicle.
According to the parking policy of the mall, people can get back parking if they come out of the mall within one hour.
Shah said he visited the mall on December 23, 2019 and paid Rs 10 to park two-wheeled vehicles.
He claimed that he only spent 30 minutes in the mall, but when the parking lot was full, it took 15 minutes to park his vehicle.
When he returned to the parking lot to leave, he noticed that the two-wheel was transferred to another corner.
He complained that when his vehicle shifted, it took 45 minutes to find it and took it out because he could not take advantage of the one hour free parking policy.
Approaching the Consumer Court in Vadodara, Shah asked the mall to deposit RS 4.9 lakh in consumer welfare funds.
During hearing, the mall presented a copy of the CCTV camera recording which showed that Shah had entered the mall at 6.35 and came out at 19.26.
It also argued that Shah was eligible for a refund, but he did not ask him.
The consumer forum upholds the argument and further notes that during the celebration season, the mall parking area becomes full because the vehicle is moved.
“But in this case, the complainant vehicle is not lost or damaged and he does not collect the allegations of parking back, so there is no justification for complaints,” said the court when he rejected this case.
