Bicholim / Valpoi: The State Minister for Tourism and Water Channels Shripad rises say there is a need to learn the causes of flood so that in the future, improvement measures can be taken to minimize damage.
He also called for the modernization of the disaster management system.
Riding examined the pale village that was hit by flooding in Bicholim Taluka on Monday.
By stating that the recent floods have other causes other than nature, rising say that to improve this, it is necessary to modernize disaster management by conducting mud activities.
“There is a need for in-depth studies of the causes of natural disasters.
The river and flow filled with mud need to be cleaned.
Without this, there will be no room for rainwater drainage,” he said.
Furthermore, he said that a report would be prepared in the next two days and was handed over to the Workers Government, seeking immediate assistance for flood victims.
“We will try our best level to provide maximum compensation and help those affected,” he said.
Then on that day, up, accompanied by Minister of Health and Valpoi MLA Vishwajit Rane, also visited the flood-affected areas in Sattari.
He interacted with people whose homes collapsed, heard their complaints and convinced them about all possible help.
“We held a meeting at the Office of Rane, along with the North Goa collector Ajit Roy, Deputy Collector Sattari Rajesh Ajgaonkar, Mamlatdar Dasharath Gawas, Development Block Officials and Pwd Officials, and instructed them to provide maximum assistance to the victims,” said going up to reporters.
