Bhubaneswar / Kendrapada: Steel Magnate and Chief Executive of the world’s largest steel producer, ArcelorMittal, Lakshmi Niwas Mittal met with the head of the head of Naveen Patnaik at the last residence here on Saturday.
This is the second meeting of the Arcelorormittal boss with the main minister in the past six months.
Official sources at the minister’s head office said the meeting lasted for one hour where Mittal discussed the steel factory project proposed by the company in Kendrapada with the minister’s chairman.
“Mittal would like to thank the chairman of the Minister of Cooperation which was expanded by the state and administrative government of Kendrapada Regency for the proposed steel complex.
Naveen asked Mittal to accelerate the company’s project in Odisha,” said a senior government official.
On March 4, ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India Limited (AMNS India), a joint venture (JV) from ArcelorMittal steel and Nippon from Japan, has signed a MoU with the state government to establish a 12MTPA integrated steel complex in Kendrapada Regency with investment.
from Rs 50,000 Crore.
The MoU was signed in front of the Minister of Chief and Chairperson.
The state government and Indian AMNS officials have started the scouting process for the Mega Steel Mill project.
The company has identified around 6,500 hectares of land as an interesting initial field for steel complexes in the Mahakalapada area in Kendrapada Regency.
