Pune: Pune collector has established a team to examine public meetings, in closed and open space, during the Christmas and New Year period considering the threat of omicron variants.
While the weekly ponytites have fluctuated between 1.5-1.6% for districts in the past two weeks, random inspection will be issued for programs, functions, meetings, marriages, parties or meetings that may be social, political or religious in nature.
According to the state government, people up to 50% of space capacity will be permitted to gather in case of closed space, and people up to 25% of capacity are permitted to gather in the case of open space with the condition that the distance of 6ftx6ft is maintained between each individual collected.
“We will have a team carrying out random checks in rural areas and starting actions against those who violate the Covid protocol,” said Pune Collector Rajesh Deshmukh.

Local authorities can take action under the Disaster Management Law, 2005, and TheIPC, 1860, if there is a rule violation.
