A corporate spokesman confirmed that while the production of the car would continue only to fulfill existing export orders, the factory would mainly function to produce spare parts for their existing car parts.
“We intend to meet all our order commitments before lifting the factory operation completely.

The decision to close is expected to have an impact on more than 4,000 employees in both plants besides around 150 dealers who operate more than 300 outlets.
“We have decided to maintain our service outlet network around 248 of 253 locations in India,” Sharma was further added.
It is estimated that 1,200 employees including white collars and blue collar workers are expected to be influenced by the closed plants.
“Most workers employed in Ford have filed jobs in several other locations.
