Ford stop manufacturing vehicles in India, will rely on imports

New Delhi / Chennai: Ford India on Thursday announced stopping manufacturing vehicles here and planned to bring global vehicles and electrical products.
Ford will continue to provide customers in India with spare parts, services, and sustainable warranty support.
As part of the plan, Ford India will turn on the vehicle assembly in Sanand in the fourth quarter of 2021 and vehicle manufacturing and machinery in Chennai in the second quarter of 2022, the company announced.
Following the accumulation of operating losses of more than $ 2 billion over the past 10 years and $ 0.8 billion in a decrease in non-operating assets in 2019.
Ford will begin to import and sell iconic vehicles, including the Mustang Coupe.
Today’s product sales such as Figo, Aspire, Freestyle, Ecosport and Endeavour will stop after an existing dealer inventory for sale.
