New Delhi: The Ministry of Health and family welfare on Monday allows foreign nationals to live in India to register on the Cowin Portal to receive their Covid-19 vaccine.
Foreign citizens can use their passports as proof of identity for registration purposes on the Cowin portal, the Ministry informs.
“A large number of foreign nationals live in India, especially in large metropolitan areas.
In these areas, the potential spread of Covid-19 is high due to higher population density.
To fight all the possibilities of occurrence, it is important to vaccinate all people who qualify, “Ministry said.
Furthermore, it added, “This initiative will ensure the security of foreign citizens living in India.
It will also reduce the possibility of further transfer of infection from people who are not vaccinated living in India.
It will also ensure the overall transmission of Covid- 19 viruses .
“India has provided more than 51 doses of crore vaccines throughout the country, such as on August 9, the ministry informed.
