Officials in the Indian contingent in Tokyo have been left ashamed after 86kg free-style wrestlers in the foreign coach Punia Murad Gaidarov, from Russia, “behaved, attacked and shouted” in the match of the referee Sergie Kovalenko from Russia, which was inaugurated in the bronze medal repechage about the missing Haryana Grappler (3-2) to San Marino’s Myles Nazim Amine on Thursday night.
Toi has learned that the incident occurred after Deepak’s fight when coach Gaidarov experienced an ugly fight with the referee match in one of the halls of the Arena makuhari Messe.
After Kovalenko gave two important points to Amine for his ferocious Takedown in Deepak in the last six seconds of the fight, which resulted in Deepak losing 3-2 after leading a 2-1 contest, Belarusian coach physically attacked the referee and abused him and kicked the Secretary General UWW Michel Dusson.
