Foreign Drinks made in India in ‘Medical Equipment’ Foxes Box Vadodara Cops

Vadodara: By checking and patrolting the border tightened in the middle of a pandemic, the Bootleggers in Gujarat also became more innovative while trying to cut down snooks.
One of the latest efforts is a trick to dress up Owned Goods in this medical equipment box and parcel to the desired location.
Vadodara crime branch officials found several Bootleggers reduced by liquor to the country when they were in other countries to investigate criminal cases.
“We are investigating theft and our team has gone to Chandigarh recently.
It was during the investigation and questioned some of the people we learned about the Bootleggers now use courier services to transport banned liquor to the country,” said the crime branch official told toi.
The liquor package was sent from Chandigarh to various cities in Gujarat.
“The Bootleggers label ‘medical equipment’ on boxes filled with bottle of liquor that tries to suggest supervision and also ensure these packages are handled carefully,” said the official, added that in the midst of the Covid crisis, many medical equipment were transported From one place to another, and therefore it won’t cause suspicion.
“Bootleggers sent some of their people to Chandigarh to accept liquor delivery.
They then courier to Gujarat received here by their gang.
The stock was then distributed to others,” the police said.
“Bootleggers from Ahmedabad use this trick and we have told our colleagues there about the suspect,” added the branch of the crime.
Also, the police will now keep an eye on the courier movements in the city and intercept or check out a large consignment that might seem suspicious.
Ahmedabad City Crime Branch Officer said that they had not received the input that bottle of liquor was smuggled into the box which was intended for drugs for Covid-19 but they were alert to the courier movements and other packages on the private bus.
A city police officer said that they had on June 22 held a man from the Sola City area with a liquor bottle worth Rs 9 Lakh and he had bought alcohol in a biscuit box, snacks and clothing.
A police officer said that accusing Vinod Patel, 54, had brought a bottle of premium liquor on a private bus in the parcel box he was told as aid for Corona patients.
