Foreign funds are used for illegal conversion: ATS ATS

Lucknow: Continuing his investigation into illegal repentance of the poor to Islam, anti-terrorist forces from the Uttar Pradesh police have claimed that Rs 2 Crore was diverted from England and was misused by the Duo arrested, Umar Gautam and Mufti Kazi Jahangir Qasmi.

ATS officials said they traced the details of transactions from Middle Eastern countries to Umar Gautam and Jahangir Qasmi accounts.
ATS also looked into the property owned by the Duo arrested, in addition to identifying other gang members.
The agency also claimed to have found more conversions carried out by the Duo in the Ghaziabad district.
Meanwhile, the National Commission for Children’s Rights Protection (NCPCR) has also issued a notification to the Administration of Fatehpur Regency, looking for information about the allegations made by a private school teacher who Umar Gautam visited the campus and asked students to learn Urdu and Arabic.
The teacher claimed that Umar Gautam pressed Hindu students to convert to Islam and when he protested, he was fired by the school authorities.
SP, Fatehpur, the Satpal told Tii that after NCPCR notices and allegedly rising to school, district judges had formed a four-member committee to investigate.
“The teacher’s statement that levels allegations and students will also be noted,” he said.
On June 21, ATS has arrested Mohammed Umar Gautam and Mufti Kazi Jahangir Qasmi on charges of converting around 1,000 people, including poor women and children with the inability of speech and hearing, to Islam.
Qasmi is the chairman of the Islamic Dawah Center (IDC) in Jamianagar Delhi.
Most of the funds are received on behalf of IDC.
