Letter: With the start of the new year Vikram Samvat, Diamond City gets wings to supply products to more than 139 countries at a minimum cost.
The National Union Minister Devusinh Chauhan inaugurated the facial post office facilities to be provided by the Post Department on Wednesday.
Chauhan inaugurates the International Business Center for the Post Department where foreign post office facilities will be provided.
On IBC, facilities such as packaging, reservations, and customs documentation will be provided.
Dedicated staff for these works will be deployed at the center.
This is a long-delayed demand by Jewel and Jewelry Export Promotion Board (GJEPC) and Chamber of Commerce and South Gujarat Industry (SGCCI).
This facility tends to benefit small and medium jewelry manufacturers and textile traders.
At present, they must send samples or orders to become small amounts through couriers.
“Often the cost is too high and because there is no alternative, they have to spend the number.
But with the post office option, they can send small packages at affordable costs,” said Dinesh Navadiya, regional chairman, GJEC.
Small diamond jewelry manufacturers often accept orders for one or a few pieces.
“At present, they take private courier services.
Couriers also did not send goods to several countries while the post office had a relationship with many countries,” added Navadiya.
The post office will prove useful for textile traders who send samples to be examined to buyers abroad.
This will reduce their courier costs and increase reach to many countries.
Textile Minister Union Darshana Jardosh said, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi has implemented Gati Shakti YOJNA where 16 different departments are asked to work together with rapid results because many projects are implemented quickly.” Navsari MP and Head of BJP State CR Paatil, said, “The post office will benefit the diamond and jewelry sector in the city.
The state government has also launched aircraft services between countries that will encourage further development.”
