Udhagamandalam: The forest department has chosen to catch a wounded tusker that’s been drifting at a coffee farm in Marthoma Nagar close Gudalur lately, because its health state has deteriorated.
Aged around 32 decades the elephant was initially seen by wounds three decades back from the Gudalur forest array.
A senior forest officer, who also requested anonymity, said that the wound was dispersing into the tusker’s spine, restricting the creature’s movement.
“We have opted to catch the pachyderm and keep it into a kraal for therapy.
Four kumkis in the Theppakadu elephant camp at the Mudumalai Tiger Reserve (MTR) are held prepared for the shooting performance.” The officer stated, the tusker ought to be left alone in the woods.
