Guwahati: Police Assam on Thursday arrested former Secretary General of Association of Association Cricket (ACA), Pradip Buragohain, because of the alleged financial irregularities of several crores rupees during his term of office from 2016 to 2019.
Based on ACA, Fatasil Ambari Police picked him up from Tingkhong in the District Dibrugarh Assam on Wednesday night and took him to Guwahati on Thursday morning.
Debajyyoti Phukan, Officer, who is responsible for the Fat Ambari Police Station, “We found certain facts and information during our initial investigation to take the former Secretary ACA Pradip Buragohain into custody after FIR was submitted by ACA, accusing financial anomalies for 2016 until 2019 when he was Serving as Secretary of the Cricket Association.
“Further officers said the amount of money allegedly abused would only be known once the investigation ended.
ACA source said that after recording the possibility of financial anomalies, an account.
The verification committee was formed to examine financial transactions, including payments to contractors, made by former ACA committee during 2016-2019.
Secretary ACA Devajit Saikia told the media that the verification committee submitted its report earlier this year after finding large anomalies, especially considering the purchase of flight tickets, construction at the Stadium (Barsapara) and all IED work and unauthorized expenditure for a period of two and a half years.
