KABUL: Former Afghan Islamic Republic official who left the war-hit by a war after the takeover by the Taliban announced the continuation of the Afghanistan government in exile, led by former Vice President Amrullah Saleh.
A statement released by the Afghan embassy in Switzerland read that the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan was the only legal Afghan government chosen by the voices of people and no other government could replace the legitimate, report the Khaama press news agency.
“After running away from Ashraf Ghani and broke out with Afghan politics, his first vice president (Amrullah Saleh) would lead the country,” read the statement.
The statement reads that Afghanistan has been occupied by external factors and based on historical responsibility of the Afghan government after consultation with elders; They decided to announce the government in exile, report Khaama’s press.
As per the statement, three government strengths, namely executives, judicials, and the legislature will be immediately activated.
It also announced its support to the Panjshir – Front Anti-Taliban Front Led by Ahmad Masoud- and has added that all the Afghan embassies and consulates will function normally.
This statement was written and released by previous government leaders, political leaders, and other politicians but none of this had been revealed, reported the Khaama press.
This happened in the middle after the Taliban on Tuesday said that they would temporarily adopt the constitution of the era of Muhammad Zahir Shah which was ratified 57 years ago.
The Taliban arrested Kabul on August 15 after aggressive and rapid progress against government forces amid the withdrawal of US troops and NATO from the country.
