Former BSP MLA from Agra Joins BJP

Agra: Former BSP MLA from Etmadpur and a leading Thakur leader, Dharampal Singh, who joined the Samajwadi Party (SP) six months ago, on Wednesday, joined BJP.
However, several BJP workers and supporters of MLA Petelles from the Etmadpur constituency held protests against his party, because they were afraid of getting a ticket.
Joining Singh came a day after the Cabinet Minister and OBC leader, Swami Prasad Maurya, stopped from his position, in the midst of speculation he joined SP.
Dharampal Singh is a former MLA, who has won from the Etmadpur seat in 2012 from BSP and from the Constituency of Dayalbagh in 2007 from Jan Morcha’s party.
In the election of 2017 assembly, Singh lost to Pratap RAM Singh BJP by more than 47,000 votes.
Singh began his political career with members of Congress and former Parliament Member of Babbar, and then changed the party one by one – Jan Morcha, BSP and SP.
Speaking with Toi, Singh said that he joined BJP in front of a senior country leader in Delhi on Wednesday.
“BJP has done a lot of work and will definitely win the upcoming election,” he said, adding that he would follow the party’s leadership instructions in connection with the election.
However, BJP workers and supporters of Sitting MLA RAM Pratap Singh protested Singh who joined the party.
They shouted slogans and offered their resignation to the President of the Braj Party of Rajnikan Maheshwari.
Maheshwari told media people that the problem of party workers would be intended because they were the backbone of the party.
“Dharampal has just joined a party and that does not mean that the ticket has been given to him.
It was only the assumption that he had joined the party to get a ticket from the Constituency of the Majelis Etmadpur,” Maheshwari said, adding that the party would never be contrary to his workers.
However, he said that Dharmpal can get tickets from other constituencies in Agra.
Disappointed with today’s steps, RAM Pratap Singh said he had dedicated his life to the party but they had tried to comb them by triggering dharampal at the party.
“They didn’t talk to me even when I tried to approach them,” he said.
