Coimbatore: A FIR has been registered against former Commissioner of Valparai K Paunraj with vigilance and anti-corruption (V & AC), Coimbatore, on charges of misuse of public funds until Rs 15.6 Crore.
On August 25, V & AC Inspector D Sheela registered the FIR against Paunraj.
He was ordered below in section 408, 420 of the code and section of Indian Punishment 13 (1) (C) (d) (i) (iii) (iii) (ii) (e) Prevention of Corruption Act 1988.
On April 10 , Coimbatore District Crime Branch (DCB) police registered a case against Paunraj.
Paunraj has intentionally and deliberately committed a violation of trust by dividing a civil work into 41 work orders and orders issued on February 2, 2021.
Out of 41 work orders, 37 began after February 26, 2021.
Paunraj has abused the public funds about the RS 15.6 crore.
DCB police registered another pine against Paunraj because of cheating on Rs 35 Lakh and he was placed under the suspension.
Meanwhile, the state government transfers public cases that are misused by Rs 15.62 Crore to V & AC, coimbatore.tnn
