Former Cong councillor shot dead at Jalandhar

Jalandhar: Former Congress councillor Sukhmeet Singh Deputy, 43, who’d nearly completed his prison sentence for kidnapping, was on Sunday evening gunned down close Krishan Murari temple at Gopal Nagar here by four guys who knocked him off his bike by using their vehicle.
The prior District Youth Congress (Rural) president required eight to ten bullets, cops have stated.
Police commissioner Gurpreet Singh Bhullar has stated on the grounds of preliminary screenplay which Sukhmeet was about a birthday celebration when assaulted.
He expired on the area.
Having nearly served his sentence, he had been introduced to decongest the prison throughout the Covid-19 pandemic.
Bhullar said dad had sentenced Sukhmeet along with others to kidnapping an agent’s kid in January 2008 to get a ransom of Rs 1 crore.
Developer Subhash Mahindru of all Mota Singh Nagar has been also a buddy of Sukbmeet.
After he got back his son, Subhash strove to conceal the issue however, the press captured the whiff.
Police swung into action and rescued the boy.
The family assembled by authorities, afterwards, that Sukhmeet needed a hand in the offense.
Sukhmeet was a councillor at 2007.
