Letter: Iminging to play in Trophy Ranji, a longer premium format league in the country, proved expensive for a cricketer based in a chained city of Rs 27 lakh by multi-state gang.
In the middle of the racket is a former Cricketer of Women from Himachal Pradesh, Sapna Kumari Randhawa (32).
He was arrested on Wednesday by cells of the city police economy violations following the complaint submitted by Bhavik Patel 29 years, a resident of Navsari.
Apart from the former Cricketer, his complaint also mentioned the name of the State Association official who made the munkier racket.
Patel’s complaint stated that Randhawa extracted Rs 14.50 lakh from Him while Vishal’s aid pocketed Rs 12.50 lakh.
Even though Patel had never played at Ranji Trophy, Vishal managed to take him on the T20 Nagaland team.
Patel played the only match against Jharkhand in the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 trophy in February 2019.
Patel derived from Navsari, shifted his base to the letter in 2017, and began training in Lalbhai Cricket Academy.
In 2018 he was part of the letter team participating in the tournament held in Hathras in Uttar Pradesh.
Ram Chauhan, one of the organizers of the event, told Patel that if he was ready to spend money, he could play in the trophy Ranji.
After Patel showed interest, Chauh arranged a meeting with Randhawa in Jalandhar in 2018.
Randhawa told Patel that to play Ranji matches, he had to make fake documents from various state associations.
The deal was beaten.
Patel was offered six matches a year in all three formats as a reward of RS 22 Lakh.
Randhawa demanded Rs 5 Lakh in a week and Patel paid Rs 10,000 as a down payment.
A few days later, Patel with Chauhan went to Kangra at Himachal Pradesh where they met Randhawa and his brother Ravindra Singh.
He paid cash in RS 3 Lakh to start the procedure to make a fake document.
After returning to the letter, he kept the One Lakh Hospital in each bank account from one Sushilaben and Jinu Tanwar.
After several days Randhawa asked Rs 2 lakh to care for his brother-in-law who was deposited by Patel in his bank account.
After paying the total RS 12.50 Lakh Patel did not get the chance to play one match.
Later, Randhawa confirmed her place in the Assam team.
As instructed, Patel went to Guwahati and met a Tiwari Dhanwant who gave him some fake documents and also asked him to fill out the BCCI form.
But he never received a call from voters.
In February 2019 Randhawa asked Patel to go to Nagaland and meet a Vishal.
Patel went to the Nagalaland State Cricket Association office.
After giving Vishal references, the association’s joint secretary, Ahidur Rahman, filled in its shape and allowed him to join the Country Team Camp, complaint countries.
Vishal took Rs 12.50 lakh from Patel because of this and then he made a T20 debut against Jharkhand.
Patel also played at the Premier League Nagaland.
But the promise of the trophy Ranji never materialized.
After several attempts failed to get the money back, Patel filed a complaint with the police letter on January 20, 2022.
The police registered a violation under the 420 IPC (cheating and dishonest) and arrested Randhawa.
