Mumbai: Former Congress Minister Kripashankar Singh, who served as Minister of State at home in Congress-NCP Previously at Maharashtra, joined Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday.
He joined BJP in front of the Head of State Chandrakant Patil and former Minister of Main Devendra Fadnivis at the State Party Headquarters in Mumbai’s Nariman Point.
He has resigned from Congress in run-up for the 2019 State Assembly election.
He did not campaigned for parties during the 2019 assembly selection even though he had significant followers.
Singh has joined the Safron Party ahead of the Election of Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) scheduled for next February.
BJP, has launched Mission 2022 and vowed to win power in India’s richest Civic body this time.
Singh, known as the face of the North Indian Party in Mumbai, has distanced itself from Congress for some time.
He also served as Head of the Mumbai Congress during 2008-2012.
