NEW YORK: The New York post editor whose departure was announced on Tuesday allegedly was dismissed two months after revealing to an executive that the former Editor of Col Allan had sexually harassed him.
The post said the suggestion of an error associated with the announcement of the Editor-in-Chief Keith Poole about the exit of Michelle Gulthelf was feasible.
Poole, who told him to shoot him in November after more than two decades in the post, was the defendant in the lawsuit he filed on Tuesday, along with Allan, newspaper publishing company and Corporate Willy News Corp.
The Peak of Allan “peaked” in the fall of 2015 when he was the Metro newspaper editor.
Both had drinks after the editor’s dinner meeting when Allan said that “we have to sleep together,” he said in the lawsuit.
He said Allan became hostile when he rejected his progress.
He complained to the superiors and human resources, and alleged that Allan was forced to retire soon after.
However, he returned as a consultant in 2019.
Gulthelf said their relationship remained tense, and he saw his influence and status in the newsroom eroded.
He said that in 2019, Allan ordered him to remove from the website posts about the allegations of journalist E.
Jean Carroll that he had been raped by President Donald Trump at that time.
Trump denied the allegations and the lawsuit said that Allan claimed Carroll’s allegations was baseless.
During the lunch meeting in November 2021 to discuss the contract that will soon be expired, Poole said asking him “What happens between you and cabbage?” He tells him Allan has sued him.
He said Poole fired him “without cause” on January 12.
“There are suggestions for errors associated with the management changes announced today is inadequate,” Post and News Corp said in a statement.
Associated Press generally did not mention the person who said they were victims of sexual abuse, unless they talked publicly, because Gothelf had done.
